My life changed from that day on because I realized when you lose just one parent, it feels like your world has come to an end. I never looked at my mother, single parents or widows the same way since. My heart’s desire is to open up a safe haven for such kids to call home. If you still have one of your parents, please appreciate him/her because you still have it better than some of the kids in an orphanage. After reading the book, "The Irresistible Revolution" by Shane Claiborne, I discovered that world peace is possible but it requires us to change the way we live our lives, the way we take in our surroundings, and the way we experience the world around us.
